About Matthew Koehler, DO
Dr. Matthew Koehler grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended medical school at Touro University, where he graduated with honors in the top 2% of his class. After a medical internship, Dr. Koehler spent four years serving as a medical officer in the United States Navy. There he provided primary care medicine and oversaw a desert survival program for elite military personnel. Dr. Koehler then went on to complete a Dermatology residency at Western University of Health Sciences in Los Angeles, where he served as Chief Resident. Having started his career in primary care, Dr. Koehler has a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to patient care. Dr. Koehler is committed to educating and helping his patients prevent and treat skin conditions of all kinds. He also has extensive training and experience in surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and a member of American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He has also been an Associate Professor for the residency program at Western University. Dr. Matthew Koehler leaves a busy practice in Los Angeles, where he will be missed by his colleagues and patients. He joined Dermatology Consultants of Marin in July 2017, after moving to Marin to be closer to his family. Dermatology Consultants of Marin is fortunate to have him.
