About Martin R. Nunes, DMD
Dr. Nunes grew up in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and graduated in 2007 from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland with a B.A. degree in Public Health. Prior to enrolling at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, he earned his certificate in radiology and worked as a dental assistant at So Others Might Eat (SOME), a nonprofit organization for the poor and homeless in Washington, DC. Additionally, Dr. Nunes worked part-time as a research assistant in the Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland where he analyzed data involving fractures, bone mineral density, and bisphosphonate therapy in OI and cerebral palsy patients. His research was later published in Calcified Tissue International and Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. While at Tufts, Dr. Nunes was a recipient of the Tufts Merit Scholarship and was involved in various student organizations including Project Bridge, ASDA, and the Hispanic Dental Association. Dr. Nunes moved to Dallas immediately after finishing dental school in 2012 and worked in a private practice for two years before coming to The Grapevine Dentist in 2014. He decided to make DFW his permanent home in 2013 and settled down in Southlake with his wife, Holly. He has a son, Liam, in preschool and a one year old daughter, Julia. He enjoys spending his free time with his family; watching movies, exploring all Texas has to offer (especially the food) and traveling. Dr. Nunes enjoys being involved in the community and is always looking for new ways to give back. Patients seek treatment with Dr. Nunes for his patience, gentle touch, and calming personality.
