About Alvaro Maya, DMD
Prosthodontist Dr. Alvaro Maya has 25 years of experience in providing patients with state-of-the-art dental care. Before joining Dental Solutions of Miami, Dr. Maya practiced in Massachusetts, and served as an assistant clinical professor at both Boston University and Tufts University. After earning his dental degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Facultad de Odontología, Dr. Maya practiced dentistry in Colombia. After moving to the United States, he was accepted to Boston University’s Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry, where he completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics, a Master of Dental Science degree and a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. This extensive education has provided Dr. Maya with the knowledge to provide his patients with exceptional care. Dedicated to remaining on the cutting edge of dental treatments, Dr. Maya has participated in several research studies, and his work has appeared in leading publications. He has been a speaker at national and international meetings, and has attended many continuing-education courses. Dr. Maya has an in-depth understanding of implant techniques, and has received training and certifications from Nobel Biocare, ITI- Straumann, BioHorizons and Calcitek, among others. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Hispanic Dental Association, and the American College of Prosthodontists.
