About Vito C. Quatela, MD
Dr. Quatela is known as one of the top facial plastic surgeons in the Buffalo, Syracuse, and Rochester, NY region, but his reputation extends well beyond Upstate NY. His long list of professional accomplishments includes serving as the president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) and establishing the HUGS (Help Us Give Smiles) Foundation that supports medical missions to underserved countries such as Ecuador, Guatemala, and Vietnam. Dr. Quatela is an Allergan Top 250 provider, placing the Quatela Center as the only practice with this distinction in the Rochester, Syracuse, and Buffalo area. Dr. Quatela completed a residency in Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery at Northwestern University. He also completed two fellowships in facial plastic surgery, and is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery (ABO). Dr. Quatela has emerged as a leader in the field of aesthetic facial surgery. In addition to serving as past president of AAFPRS, Dr. Quatela serves annually as a board examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) certification examinations. He also helps train the next generation of surgeons through an annual fellowship, as well as multiple national and international lectures, and as a clinical associate professor at the University of Rochester in the otolaryngology department. Dr. Quatela's inspiration for establishing the HUGS Foundation was a personal belief that every human being has a fundamental right to the opportunity to grow and develop socially and intellectually without being ostracized or rejected due to physical abnormality.
