About Shawn Young, DMD
Dr. Young received his Baccalaureate of Sciences in Zoology from Brigham Young University. He went on to attend Oregon Health and Sciences University where he received his dental degree as a Doctor of Medical Dentistry. He graduated at the top of his class with both clinical and academic honors. He was selected for induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. This is a prestigious award given to those who excel not only academically but also display clinical excellence. Dr. Young moved to Arizona in 2001 and has since been in private practice. He considers being a dentist a lifelong learning process and is a firm believer in continuing education. He has received special training in cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Central Arizona Dental Association. He has received special training in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He completed Bicon institute’s surgical implant course. He believes in preventative dentistry and treats his patients with care and listens to their needs. When not in the office, you can find Dr. Young spending time outdoors with his son Parker. He enjoys working on many projects at home and is an experienced cabinetmaker.
