About Sameh O. Girgis, DMD
Dr. Sam Girgis has been around the dental profession his whole life. He comes from a dental family of multiple well-respected dentists including his father. Dr. Girgis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA - the second oldest dental school in the country. The Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D.) program at Temple is known for having some of the most extensive clinical requirements in the nation. Dr. Girgis was able to exceed their requirements before due dates which enabled him to graduate with honors. He also held multiple leadership roles at Temple including a representative to one of the four comprehensive care clinics. As a clinical representative, he participated in meetings with the dean and clinical directors to find appropriate solutions to enhance the students’ learning and working experiences for an exceptional patients’ care. Dr. Girgis was awarded “Best Hand Skills” designation by his colleagues based on the quality of his restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He is also the trusted dentist for many of his peers who gave him the title “Dentist of the Dentists” when they needed dental work themselves. Prior to his dental education, Dr. Girgis graduated with honors from Wayne State University (WSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Moreover, he focused his studies on Health Psychology to better understand his patients’ needs. Dr. Girgis received multiple awards including Mentoring Honor Certificates. He was part of the David Mackenzie Honor Society where only 10 to15 outstanding graduating seniors are selected for recognition of their high academic achievements and contributions to the Wayne State campus community. He was also active in neuroscience research at the Anesthesiology and Psychiatry & Behavioral Science departments at WSU School of Medicine focusing on neurochemical profiles of the opioid fentanyl and the sedative dexmedetomidine. Dr. Girgis has wide-ranging dental experiences extending from urgent care to aesthetic dentistry. He was the lead dentist in multiple urgent dental care clinics in Columbus, OH and Cleveland, OH. As the main emergency dentist, he treated hundreds of dental trauma patients, which included but not limited to, teeth repositioning & splinting, root canal procedures and surgical extractions as well as the removal of wisdom teeth. He was also part of a high-end private practice serving Cincinnati, OH and Northern Kentucky, where he provided the highest quality general and cosmetic dental procedures using the latest dental technology and digital dentistry. Dr. Girgis is an Invisalign certified and is an expert in using the most advanced CEREC Omnicam to precisely scan and design teeth in natural color for indirect restorative procedures. He is also an expert in using Solea CO2 laser, Biolase Waterlase all tissue laser and the Picasso plus diode laser for a variety of periodontal procedures and soft tissue management. Dr. Girgis is determined to provide the best level of care including aesthetic smile makeovers to create healthy and beautiful smiles for his patients. He utilizes a blend of his artistic skills and the most advanced techniques/materials to ensure high-quality long-lasting procedures with minimal post-operative complications. Outside the dental world, Dr. Girgis loves to spend time with family and friends. He enjoys travelling, reading, and trying different restaurants and coffee shops. Dr. Girgis speaks English and Arabic fluently. Dr. Girgis resides in Bloomfield Hills, but you may run into him in Philly and NYC on weekends!
