About Darren Wellenreiter, DDS
Dr. Darren Wellenreiter is a general dentist who takes pride in caring for the entire family and building lasting relationships with his patients. Whether it is a smile makeover or a cleaning, he enjoys educating his patients about their dental needs as well as showing them how to care for their teeth so that they can achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy smiles. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but is especially passionate about doing cosmetic restorations that enable individuals to have the smile they have always wanted. Dr. Wellenreiter attends continuing education seminars regularly to stay at the forefront of technology in modern dentistry so that he can provide excellent dental care to his patients. He treats all his patients with respect and compassion and genuinely is concerned about their dental and physical health. He has been told on many occasions from formerly “terrified” patients that he is now the only dentist they will go to. Dr. Wellenreiter was raised near Indianapolis, Indiana. He knew from the fifth grade that he wanted to be a dentist, so he attended Indiana University in Bloomington where he rooted for the Hoosiers of Bob Knight and received a B.S. degree in biology. He then attended Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis and graduated in 1993. He owned his own private practice in the Indianapolis area for 13 years where he developed close relationships with many great patients and families. He spent eight years looking for the perfect place to raise his family before deciding to move to Charlotte in 2008. Dr. Wellenreiter and his wife have three young boys and are really enjoying the Charlotte area with its proximity to both the beach and mountains. He and his wife are avid mountain bikers and snowboarders and are really enjoying exploring all the local trails. He also plays hockey and enjoys following the Indianapolis Colts, and of course, being from Indy, is a huge racing fan.
