About Blayne J. Gumm, DDS
Dr. Gumm is a board-certified general dentist, one of only 750 in the United States, and a board-certified implant dentist, one of only 550. He is additionally highly certified in gum disease treatment, and in the full-mouth restoration of broken-down smiles. As a result, Dr. Gumm is uniquely qualified to treat patients who have complex dental problems. He provides skilled, custom treatment to restore his patients’ smiles to full health, function and beauty. Dr. Gumm earned his dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry and went on to obtain a graduate certificate in Comprehensive Dentistry and graduate training in Periodontics at the University of Florida. Dr. Gumm then embarked upon an extensive pursuit of continuing education. This included completing graduate programs in dental restoration and bite alignment at the Society for Occlusal Studies and at the Pankey Institute, a graduate program and graduate master’s program in implant dentistry, and programs in advanced laser periodontal therapy and facial pain management. Dr. Gumm has lectured on the subject of implants, dental restoration, gum disease treatment, bite alignment and TMJ treatment at universities and at national, regional, state and local dental meetings. Dr. Gumm is one of only 750 general dentists in the United States who are board-certified by the American Board of General Dentistry. In addition, in recognition of his outstanding knowledge and skill in implant dentistry, he has been awarded board certification by the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, a distinction only granted to select dentists after passing a rigorous examination of theory and practical skills. Dr. Gumm is also a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and has been honored with its Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award. He is a Master of the International College of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry. Few dentists in the country have achieved so many distinctions. Giving back to the community is important to Dr. Gumm. He is active with the Donated Dental Services Program of the Dental Lifeline Network, a charitable organization that provides free access to dental care to those who would otherwise not have any.
