About Andrew Herbst, MD

Andrew Herbst MD is a dermatologist, board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. He received his undergraduate education at Cornell University, medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine, completed an internship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and specialty training in dermatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. After training he completed a one year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at the Dermatologic Surgicenter in Philadelphia, PA and is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the gold standard organization for training in Mohs surgery. Since completing training in 2001, Dr Herbst has focused his practice on the treatment of skin cancer. He has treated over 20,000 skin cancers with the Mohs technique and prides himself not only on the precise removal of the cancer but also in providing the most aesthetic repair. He has been invited to share his expertise multiple times with other doctors as an instructor in seminars on post Mohs surgery reconstruction at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology and been invited to lecture on skin surgery at local dermatology meetings. After 11 year of practice in the New York area Dr. Herbst founded in 2012 the Skin Cancer Center of Fairfield County P.C., a medical practice devoted to the treatment of skin cancer. The mission of this practice is to provide focused care for skin cancer patients involving the most precise removal of the growths with the utmost sensitivity to obtaining the best cosmetic results, in a warm, welcoming, comfortable setting. After 5 very successful years in Norwalk, Dr. Herbst opened in 2016 an additional setting in Branford, CT to accommodate patients from that region.
